Giota Kyriakou
Associate Director, Protein & RNA Engineering Tessera Therapeutics
Giota Kyriakou, PhD, is a Senior Scientist at Tessera Therapeutics since December 2022, with extensive experience in data science and engineering. Prior to this role, Giota held various positions at Cargill from August 2017 to December 2022, including Lead Data Scientist and Senior Research Engineer. Academic experience includes a Research Assistant role at the University of Minnesota where Giota focused on the mechanism of action of class II Bacteriocins, contributing to the prediction of novel antimicrobial peptides. Giota also interned at Cargill and Hellenic Petroleum and held an undergraduate research assistant position at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where a diploma thesis on protein and peptide delivery was completed. Giota obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a diploma in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, augmented by studies at Gdańsk University of Technology.
